1931
Aldous Huxley
writes his visionary novel Brave New World, anticipating sociological developments such as psychological manipulation and classical conditioning. In his novel, he describes a world without poverty, war or disease. Citizens are given mind-altering drugs, free sex and rampant consumerism in order to be controlled by the government.

In 2015, Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television adapts the novel as a scripted series for the cable network Syfy.
